2025 Annual Shay Meeting and Events

The 2025 Meeting took place in Clinton, IA, on June 10-13.  Nineteen members and 7 Shays attended the meeting and events.  We traveled along the upper Mississippi River, both north to Galena, IL, and south to LeClaire, IA.  We found plenty of time to socialize and visit with old friends while traveling to some interesting sites:  Buffalo Bill Museum and Antique Archaeology in LeClaire, The Grant Museum and Home in Galena-as well as some shopping, and the Sawmill Museum in Clinton.  We ate “Chicken George” at the Candlelight Inn in Clinton and liked it so much we went back for lunch on Friday!

The meeting was held on Friday morning and new officers were elected:

      Vice-President:  Kyle Bruno

      Treasurer:  Kathy Kern

 

The 2026 SOCI Meeting will be hosted by Sally and Don Smith in Springfield, MO.  It will coincide with the 100th Anniversary celebration of Route 66.  More details will follow.
